Once implemented this will allow all civilizations to advance to a sixth Age, the Great War Age, which is intended to be a super late game, highly expensive Age themed off the First World War.
#AGE OF EMPIRES 1 GAMEPLAY MOD#
This feature was once available when the mod was still called War of the Triple Alliance, but it was unpolished and thus it was removed from the mod in order to be improved. The Great War is planned as a new Age for Wars of Liberty. There are even a few maps for a more lighthearted experience, like The Moon. The maps let players explore and wage war in locations from across the world, from the deep jungles of the Congo to the massive continent of Australia. Wars of Liberty greatly expands the number of maps available compared to the base game, including some with unique mechanics or new Trading Posts. Espionage units are now trained at their own special building and all civilizations have access to at least one variety of espionage unit, whether it be the default Spy or a unique one based on their civilization or culture. Spies and other espionage units can be game changers in many situations, and typically offer abilities you can't get off other units such as being able to plant Land Mines or set fires. Wars of Liberty has built off that foundation and provides an improved system for Espionage. In Age of Empires III, Spies were trained at the Church and were good against natives, heroes, and mercenaries. The Religion system includes a new resource - Faith - used to train Priests and research your religion's improvements. There are currently 19 religions implemented in the game and each has their own unique perks and religious improvements you can get. Finally a game with real-time decision making. But of course, if you would rather diverge from the beaten path, Age of Empires includes a built-in scenario editor so you can create your own conflicts and scenarios. Every civilization in Wars of Liberty has access to the Religion system, available by constructing their culture's religious building (such as the Temple, Totem, Monastery, or Monument) and then selecting one of their civilization's religious options. Gameplay: Age of Empires sets you within an historical context, not in a purely fictional world. The Church from Age of Empires III has been completely remade into the new Religion feature.
